Kevin Kelly Cassone, 56, a resident of Amenia, NY, formerly of Manhattan, NY died on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his home in Amenia, NY. Mr. Cassone was retired from Columbia University.
Born on January 25, 1960 in Port Chester, NY he was the son of the late Dr. Peter G. Cassone and Eileen (Kelly) Cassone. He had a passion for politics, people, history and nature that started in his youth with his work at the Greenwich, CT Audubon Center and continued throughout his life. Mr. Cassone was the Chairman of the Amenia Enhancement Committee, a member of the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as member of the Amenia Ethics Committee. He was also a Master Gardener and the Treasurer of the Garden Club of Amenia. Mr. Cassone was a member of the Amenia Lions Club.
Mr. Cassone is survived by his longtime partner, Gretchen Hitselberger of Amenia, NY. She is a member of the Amenia Town Board. He is also survived by two brothers, Christopher Cassone of Patterson, NY and Peter Cassone of Bloomingdale, NJ and two sisters, Teresa Cassone of Poughkeepsie, NY and Claudia Stewart of Rohrersville, MD.
The family will hold a vigil and Irish wake at Four Brothers in Amenia on Friday, November 11 at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, with Rev.
