Terry Gipson’s office reports that Senator Sue Serino is declining to participate in public forums with her challenger, Terry Gipson. Serino declined to participate in a candidates’ forum sponsored by the Putnam County League of Women Voters, scheduled for October 10th, at the Mahopac Library. Serino has also declined to participate in a forum hosted by Arts Mid Hudson, to be held on October 12th.
“I believe that voters in Dutchess and Putnam Counties have a fundamental right to hear from their candidates, and that public debates benefit everyone,” said Terry Gipson, Candidate for NY State Senate, District 41. “State Senators decide how voters’ tax dollars are spent, how their government runs, and what kind of schools their children are able to attend. The very least voters deserve is for candidates to participate in free and public debates. Apparently, my opponent does not feel this way.”
“Unfortunately, this is nothing new for Senator Serino. She refused opportunities to debate in 2014 and she’s continuing to not appear in 2016. One has to ask why she’s not accepting these invitations,” added Terry Gipson. Gipson’s website is www.TerryGipsonNY.com
