Like flowering seeds in tornado breeze,
not all soldiers survive their assigned task.
And not all civilians offer their thanks
to those who have survived their brush with death.
There remain many soldiers never thanked
for service they have done our nation.
When did you last thank a solider for service:
for their dedication, sweat, fight?
Soldiers are not weeds, but neighbors and friends.
Every good soldier has a tale to tell.
Listen closely. They recount tales quite well.
Good soldiers should live on in memory
honored by cities, towns, and family.
A memory is worth a thousand dreams
on this day we hold soldiers in esteem.
