On Saturday, October 22nd a ribbon cutting event will celebrate the newly restored facade and columns of the Smithfield Church in Amenia.   Everyone is welcome from 3:00 to 5:00 PM; refreshments will follow the ribbon cutting at 3:15.  The reception will be held on the church lawn and in an adjacent big white tent.
The landmarked 1847 Greek Revival church stands on a rise over the Smithfield Valley.  It provides one of Dutchess County's most admired vistas. The restoration was supported by The Millbrook Tribute Garden, The New York State Landmarks Conservancy, and over 300 donations from the community.

Address: 656 Smithfield Valley Road (Route 83) Hamlet of Smithfield, Amenia.

The Smithfield Church will hold its famous annual Thanksgiving Dinner this year on November 5th. Tickets are $12 adults, $6 youth. Serving times are at 4:45, 6:00, 7:15. All proceeds go to benefit the church's Helper's Society. Reservations may be made by calling Frieda Thompson at 845-373-8454 or Shirley Harbold at 845-877-0513.
