Millbrook artists Penelope Hall, Ann Collins and Stan Morse had a clean sweep at the 2016 Dutchess County Fair.
The three artists submitted a total of four pen and ink drawings, two pastels, one pencil drawing and one sculpture, all of which received either first or second
place ribbons. In addition, Collins and Morse, who picked up a pencil for the first time in June 2012, were awarded Chairman's Choice Ribbons. Hall was awarded a Best in Show Ribbon for her sculpture.
The three are all students of art instructor Sarah Scott. When we reported on their accomplishments at the 2015 fair (two second place ribbons, two first place ribbons, and one Chairman’s Choice ribbon in a field of 323 entries) Scott told us she just tries “to guide them and bring out the talent they all have.” Obviously she has been successful.
