Larks in America

Like its European counterpart, the Skylark, our Horned Lark sings on the wing. Their high-pitched song will be repeated as the birds fly in groups over fields and other open spaces. This pair was photographed last week at Cedar Ridge Farm, Pine Plains, NY. They and their flock of over one hundred birds will winter there.
