Hawk Hill Defeats Tres 4's in overtime of the Eddie Moore

Hawk Hill wins the Eddie Moore Tournament - John Klopp, Philip Mactaggart, Gringo Colombres, Wes Finlayson, Kristos Magrini, Karen Klopp

 

The finals of the Eddie Moore and Nueva Escocia were played at Mashomack Friday August 6 in cool and breezy weather that was perfect for just about everything -- players, horses and spectators alike. 

In the Nueva Escocia Oakleigh Thorne’s Heathcote team defeated Shekomeko 14 to 7.

Shekomeko was runner of the the Nueva Escocia: Tavi Usandizaga, Maxi Chenaut, Lexi Merison, Guy Merison, Karen Klopp

The Eddie Moore was hard fought and the most exciting match of the evening. Philip Mactaggart’s Hawk Hill defeated Tres 4’s 13 – 12 thanks to an overtime goal by Wesley Finlayson.

The Zubiaurre brothers seemed to be in on almost every play of the afternoon – Tatin playing for Heathcote in the Nueva Escocia and Quiel playing for Tre 4’s in the Eddie Moore. Tres 4’ Tommy Biddle was everywhere in the Eddie Moore as was Hawk Hill’s Gringo Colombres who was voted MVP. Gringo’s Pony, Bop Coqui, was best playing pony.
