The Farmer’s Wife of Ancramdale will be taking over the Mabbettsville Market TMI learned earlier today.

Job Yacubian, co-owner with his wife Emilie Sommerhoff, confirmed the lease signing.  The facility was recently renovated by a group led by Nick Bienstock, head of an international property conglomerate that infrequently takes on projects of the size and complexity as the Mabbettsville Market that needed a new septic system.

The Farmers Wife was the creation of Dorcas Summerhoff who took up cooking for others, soon became one of the leading caterers in the region, and the proprietor of a country store.  The name of the store is not a fabrication nor an exercise in fiction.  Dorcas was a farmer’s wife.  Emilie is her step-daughter.  Job and Emilie have continued the catering business and the country store and will be expanding into Millbrook with an expected opening in mid to late July.
