County gets $1.5 mill for mental health diversion
As Hudson River Psychiatric Center’s (HRPC) doors closed for good, Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro accepted $1.5 million in recurring funding from State Senator Stephen Saland for improvement and expansion of “diversion” programs for the county’s mentally ill.
Molinaro will present a resolution authorizing acceptance of the monies for consideration and approval by the Dutchess County Legislature at the February board meeting. If approved by legislature, the state Office of Mental Health must approve allocation of the funding.
