Brookside Farm

The roosters have taken over the farm.

Pigs have been set loose to eat the produce.

Horses have been confined to the red barn.

All cats, dogs, and caged birds have been set loose.

The cows are no longer milked, so they scream

around the clock, but not in unison.

Foxes now control the pastoral dream

by eating speckled chickens on the run.

Gray donkeys bray their hearty approval.

Peacocks sit screeching on couches and chairs.

After spitting, the llamas died of fright.

Fences were declared pathological.

Pigeons now clutter all the household stairs.

Mice dance on the divan all through the night.
